Astral
History
Once remarkably similar to Terrans with the exception of copper based blood as opposed to iron, the Astral were shaped by the loss of their planet to a dying star and hundreds of years of life in the depths of space. Their bodies devolved as their technology advanced, becoming ever more reliant on it. Now, they can no longer withstand gravity without implants and exosuits, and total isolation from other species has caused the most benign of foreign bodies to become a fatal danger to their immune systems.
The Astral have only very recently, and very hesitantly begun to break their isolationist lifestyle to interact with other space faring civilizations. Though their bodies are frail and they serve as an ever present warning to the dangers of life in space and overreliance on technology, they are not to be underestimated; their culture is one that has quietly survived the hardships without any help, and their bionic and medical technology is nigh unrivalled in the known galaxy.
