Terran Galactic Project
The Terran Galactic Project is a complex, multi-tiered system that reflects the diverse and expansive nature of the Terran society. The Terran Galactic Project is responsible for governing and representing the interests of Terrans in the galactic scene.
History
Upon the advent of Space travel the Terrans were slow to do much of any colonizing, as they were fiercely divided into petty squabbles amongst each other in tiny nation-states. Until one fateful day first contact was made with the Zoltaans. A rogue frigate had broken into Terrans space, attacking leaving many cities in its wake. Most governments were crippled and It wasn’t until humanity put aside its differences and formed the Terran Galactic Project in response that the ship was destroyed and space colonization was taken seriously. Now that the Terrans were sure they were not alone they had no choice but to stand up to the new challenges and were swift with their expanse.
Government and Politics
At the top of the governmental hierarchy is the Terran Assembly, which is composed of elected representatives from all Terran colonies and regions across the galaxy, followed by the Executive body which handles the Economy, next, The Council of Colonies which is the regional governing body and concludes with the Citizen’s Forums.
Terrans' interactions with the other races of the galaxy are a mixed bag for each colony is different from the next. However, the prevailing motive for Terrans is Expansion and any race that gets in the way of that will come to face the Terran Galactic Project.
Societal Structure
The Terran Assembly is responsible for making major decisions affecting the entire Terran race. It's a deliberative and legislative body where representatives propose and vote on legislation, set interstellar policies, and address significant issues concerning the diverse Terran colonies. Each minister is set to serve a five-year term.
The Executive Body is composed of a group of CEOs and business leaders. It is responsible for implementing the policies and decisions pertaining to the Economic concerns of the Terran colonies.
The Council of Colonies is a regional governing body responsible for managing and overseeing specific clusters of Terran colonies. Terrans tend to organize themselves into semi-autonomous regions based on geographic and cultural proximity, and each region elects representatives to the Council of Colonies. This body handles regional issues, resource distribution, and local governance. Any major issues will be brought to the Terran Assembly
Citizen's Forums are At the grassroots level. Terrans have systems of Citizen's Forums. These are community-based assemblies where individuals can voice their concerns, propose local policies, and engage in direct democracy. The decisions made at the Citizen's Forums are often relayed to the Council of Colonies for consideration.
Independent Agencies: Various independent agencies and organizations are responsible for specialized tasks such as research, cultural preservation, space exploration, and defense. These agencies operate with a degree of autonomy while reporting to the Terran Assembly.
